Been reading about car wash mitts and people are talking about a test called the cd anyone know what they are talking about?

CD test: If it scratches a CD disc; then it will scratch your paint.

In reality, there are many wash mediums and microfiber towels that WILL scratch a CD disc, but NOT scratch paint.

It really depends on how soft your paint is.

I don't think its so much the wash product that scratches anything, as much as its the technique of the person using it. I've used several wash products, none of them scratched for me.

Agreed:xyxthumbs: ....reconfirming that the "CD test" is a poor way to measure wash media and MF towels.

The CD Test has to do with the quality of music and it's emotional effect it has on you while performing various detailing tasks.

If you play a bad CD it can have potentially damaging effects on your paint, as well as your mental well being.

However, conversely playing a good CD can be beneficial. For example, if I pop in some classic Van Halen I will probably have a pretty good session.

If however someone slipped say a Nickleback or a Justin Bieber album in my player... good lord, I better break out the DA polisher and the compounds after a routine wash because i'll have set myself back quite a bit after a bit of a rage/freak-out. (And yes, this is coming from a Canadian... lol).

Who uses CD's these days? Lol

I have 16GB in my Sandisk Cruzer

"If you are an iPod user: 1 GB is actually more like 800 MB. Do not despair, though, as this is roughly equal to 255 songs, plus some good podcasts"

^ Googled an copy/pasted this

255x16=4,080 give or take lol

The mini flash drive cost me about $20 on Ebay.
