I've finished the top cap on my bass boat but was wondering if I should also coat the sides? Will sitting in water wear the coating off and is it a waste of product?

Thanks

We just coated two boats in my last class, see the pictures here,

Here's the deal when it comes to boats in the water. Nothing is going to last forever, not even a coating. In fact, a wet marine environment is the hardest on everything (not just the coating).

But, out of your choices,

Wax
Sealant
Coating

If the surface is prepped correctly and the coating applied correctly, I would give the coating the best chance at lasting the longest and protecting the best.

Is this a gel-coat boat?
