Hey guys,
Just wondering what steps when using blacklight?
From searching the forums, this is somewhat of an AIO?
Should I still clay the car before using this and after topping with HV7, could I apply power lock too or another nuba wax?
Thanks

I feel is more of a glaze but can be used for light correction and I mean light.

You will want to clay your paint then apply BL (I do not use it buy hand too much work). Wait 15-20mins then remove. At this point you can go ahead and apply Powerlock.

I like V7 but feel is not very durable and you would get much more durability out of power lock than V7. I still see V7 as a quick detailer more than a true spray sealant.

Once powerlock cures you can add a carnuba wax to top that if you like thats up to you.

BL is best applied after claying and polishing (assuming you have a separate polishing step). If you use it as an AIO with a medium cut polishing pad, apply right after claying.

Its a perfect foundation product for a carnuba wax. V7 is a great maintenance topper/booster applied after the wax, or applied after each wash.

You will be happy with the results. The combo I would like to see is BL topped with Pinnacle Souverin wax. That has to be a killer combo.

It's marketed as a glaze but you can get cut with it. It does have abrasives in it. I'm waiting for my sample of BF AIO simply because I don't have to buff it off. It polishes right out. I hear good things about Black Light and would love a sample to try it out. I'm guessing you won't get much cut on harder paints but would work better on softer paints. Time is money and if BF AIO looks good and saves me buffing time I will take a full size bottle next time. I will sacrafice a little on looks and durability to save time on an AIO job for a client. Those are your money makers.

Wow this forum is awesome. Replies come very fast!
If I use a cutting pad, should I also apply another coat with a finishing pad?
I do have some megs 105/205 on the way as well but I'm too excited to start detailing my car.

if you bought M105/205 then chances are you think your car needs a good correction... I'd say resist the urge to "play" with the black light and wait to do a full correction on your car with proper compound and polish. Then use black light for what it is best at... making your paint shine! Apply it with a black finishing pad after you have corrected the paint and follow up with a sealant or wax.. you'll love it.

Yeah, my car definitely needs some paint correction.
Lots of swirls and scratches and some dull paint on one of the side skirts. When I bought the car, I did not see it because it was detailed but a few washes later, there was a super faded oxidized part. I had the car for about 3 years now and clayed it once with one application of meguiars gold wax.
Since then, just regular washes.

So my steps would be
Wash
Clay
105/205
blacklight
power lock
V7 and more V7 after each wash?

Yup! Looks good to me!

Remember to take before/during/after pics and post them in the Show N Shine section!

I only have used Meg's NXT liquid wax. I tend to go with other brands for waxes. CG, PS21. I have a few sample containers of Dodo that I will pull out from time to time. I try and buy stuff that will work for every color of car. I have to keep the wax addiction in check.
