Anyone use this? The AG website says it has no cleaning properties but the CG site says it does. Whats the verdict? Also on a newer vehicle that doesn't need paint correction, could I use the butter wet (assuming it has basic cleaning properties) then top it with a sealant like opti-seal clear or CG Mseal, or would that be backwards?

Any carnuba based product has natural cleaners in it.

And you want to seal first as your base layer.

Butter wet wax doesnt have great longevity if you get a few weeks its a big deal, however it does leave a great wet shine, and its easy to use.

So I should clay it, then seal it, then use the butter wet?
I ordered a bunch of products to try out, so I would like to stay with in what I already have. Here is a list of what im trying out, Im trying to figure out what products on my list will work well together.
-Megs 105 and 205 for heavy correction,
-Megs paint reconditioning cream, I think this is an all in one but not sure if offers protection,
-Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400, this is a diminishing compound that cuts and finishes well, worked great on my boat,
-Detail king brand all in one polish and sealant,
-CG butter wet wax,
-Opti seal,
-CG M seal.

Butter Wet Wax is super-easy to use.....wowo type product.....and like Joe said...nice wet shine...I've gotten 3-4 weeks max out of it

Yes

Wash
Clay
Seal
Wax

And after that whats great about butter wet wax is you can apply it while the car is wet, CG made a video about this but it never really caught on.

You can skip the drying step and go straight to washing, thats why i love butter wet wax

What are you working on.
This specific question was regarding a new Chevy truck with only a few thousand kms but im just trying to get a sense of what plays well together for other vehicles I come across. I detail for a hobby.
I haven't used the M205 yet, can I use that for some medium/light correction then jump right to some sealant? Finish with some spray wax or butter wet? I assume 205 finishes out perfect?

The bottle says it has NO cleaning properties. *shrug*

Can not speak to how 205 finishes....but the BWW is worth trying.....CG stuff does not get a lot of love....but this is a good product....as long as you do not expect it to last 2 months

I used butter wax in the past on every detail that didn't opt for a sealant, which we used JetSeal 109 at the time. Like everyone else says, it's really easy to use, and doesn't stain trim. We literally just put it on the whole car with a DA (except the wheels) and it wipes off easily. Looks as good as you would expect a wax to look, but is on the economical side of waxes. Never really got to test out longevity because it was always used on customer cars, and I kept sealant on our personal cars and work truck.

I like cg products. They just need to be amped up a little bit, tried there leather cleaner on a dts Cadillac and it was useless even with agitation.silk shine I have 10 bottles of it,polishes are pretty good as well.If they can put more cleaning agents and power behind most of the products I would buy more of there line. Its to dummy down on some of ther stuff, but overall not bad.

Always use sealant first then wax. In this case, wait probably 24 hours inbetween before you apply the BWW. It's not bad for what it is. I know you seem to be in Edmonton so I'm not sure if the situation would be similar to me. I live in Toronto and BWW is one of the few non-OTC waxes that you can find at the odd stores here and there. That being said, I think any of this stuff you put on the front of the hood will basically be gone in about two weeks on those long highways there. I started off with this wax pretty much because it was so easy to use but in all honesty I've got a bottle and a half of this stuff now that's kind of just untouched in a cabinet somewhere. I actually like a lot of CGs stuff, I find it depends on if you're using it professionally or as a hobbyist. Their speed wipe QD is still one of my favourite ones out of all the other types out there.

butter wet wax might be the weakest wax when it comes to durability.

I say go for Collinite 845
Same price range, easy to use and have great wet look.
Also durability is great, many people I know use it for winter time, which I think great news for you, since you're a Canadian haha

A guy I know had his BWW last about 5 or 6 days in the salt-fest known as Winter for us Canadians. But he uses it as a topper for Collinite which seems to do ok. Lower panels are still gone by the end of winter time but lasted a hell of a long time.

This is the most understood wax on the market.

It was not made for longevity. If longevity is your goal butter wet wax is the worst option, butter wet wax is a beauty wax like a show car paste wax it is to enhance the paint finish, its easy to use and its a wipe on wipe off.

They didn't formulate butter wet wax to last long, that's what jet seal was made for. Anything that is natural carnuba based is going to lack in the protection longevity department.

However butter wet wax is still one of my favorite waxes because I understand it, that's like expecting a glaze to remove 90% of the paint defects, if you use it with that hope you are going to be disappointed.

Butter wet wax is like a liquid showcar wax all show no go and in certain situations that's why I like it.

For the price point you will think you put on a high quality carnuba based paste wax.

That's honestly why I started out with it. When I started detailing, I always used a sealant initially and then topped with bww. It looked good and was easy. Going with that in mind.. it's great. Expecting it to perform like pbl synergy... huge disappointment.
