Before I introduced myself on AutoGeek, I did a lot of research on the site. Figured out that I wanted the Flex3401 (I have it, and I don't think I'll ever need anything else), and that I would use Menzerna polishes and Wolfgang Sealant.
From all the discussions, the one thing I could not figure out was what I should do for high quality towels. So, I bought a few at several different places (Autogeek, ADS, CG, PakShack, Microfiber Tech).
What I quickly realized was that the only towels I wanted to use on paint say "Made in Korea". Not made in China, not Korean fiber assembled in China. Just Made in Korea.
I bought some Sasquatches from CG, and some of their Professional Grade yellow towels. The Sasquatches are great for QD, but too thick to use to wipe off polishes, sealants and wax. The Professional Grade ones appear to be identical to the Cobra Gold Plushes and are terrific towels. I would trust either of these on paint, but prefer the Korean ones by a large margin.
CG had their "wacky one day sale" running for months on the towels, but discontinued it a few weeks ago. Changed their pricing model completely, and some of the towels (like the professional grade ones in 16x16 have disappeared.
Korean made towels that I have:
Autogeek Arctic Whites
Microfiber Tech Grey and Blue made in Korea towels.
ADS Ultra Plush Grey and Blue(which are the Microfiber tech towels)
I got some of the 24x36 AG Supreme 530s for drying and I like them a lot, except that they are pilling a little. Doesn't seem to affect anything, just don't like the look. The ADS and MicrofiberTech grey ones are doing the same thing, so I think I'll avoid grey towels completely. Since those are the only ones doing it, I think it has something to do with the color in the fabric.
The thing I liked the best about CG's sale offer was the way they discounted as you bought more. AG would serve everyone well to do the same thing, and come up with further discounted pricing for 12 packs (or more) of towels.
Once you have chosen which towels you want to use regularly, a better pricing model for buying in bulk would seem to be the best for anyone's customers.
