We've had a lot of rain recently which eats away at the water based tire shine I use, d170 hyper dressing.

I noticed my two passenger side tires were looking dirty so I cleaned them with tuf shine and they get this chalky white looking stuff on them after I dry them and I can't seem to understand why.

It will sort of rub away but it will come back, shows up as the tires dry.

Brand?? Michelin has a waxed coating on their tires that has to be worked off before you can get a dressing to stick. Others may have this as well.

HUMP

yeah I have the same issue following rain after using CGs VPR...and funny enough, it happens on Michelins, but not Continetals.

Any suggestion on ways to remove that wax you mention? 1:10 Simple Green doesn't appear to do it.
