Maybe I'm just fooling around, but I wanted to find a shop (with their own detailed website, in case it's out of Northern California), that does chameleon paint. Yes, the one that changes colors...I wanna know the price, what color combos are offered...:)
I bet Souveran will look good on it!!!:righton:
Thanks guyz/gals.

I always figured it was a iridescent clearcoat additive. Cars like this ALWAYS make me look twice... pretty cool effect on the right vehicle.

I know, I've seen a Benz turning from pink, to red, to orange, and yellow....Looks pretty cool...And a Lexus from Purple to blue, to dark green and light green...
But I've heard it's very expensive - up to $10.000 depending on vehicle size, and color combo...

It must be a nitemare to touch up a damaged panel, just getting the correct identical color match......

Well, I can tell you for a top notch job your pry looking at around 10K and up. I know on my buddies 04' Mystic-Chrome Cobra, he had some chips and the paint itself is very expensive even for little repair spots. I think the 96' Mystic Cobras had a better color though, the newer ones had a brighter contrast, whereas the older ones had a nice and dark flow of colors.

Can you imagine that after getting your beautiful ride to pop all over with the brilliance of that paint process how MORE protective we'd be,?? not any more than we are right now, But of other drivers opening there doors unto OUR doors , people backing and bumping there bumpers into OUR bumpers when parking, were always looking around for the other drivers as it is now, but it be worse, THE ENEMY's uncaring concern for our rides........:(

Do a little search on House of Colors to find some of the most unique and expensive paints made for autos. Flip-flops, metallics, and custom colors are sold via the quart.

Ive seen quite a few cars around here that have had this paint job. If its not done right it looks very cheap. Nothing like chamaleon paint on a ford escort!!!

It's pricey but looks soooooo good hers what my ebuddy JR's mustang looks like

Those paintjobs are just insane. My dad's car looks beige in some light, and almost pinkish in other light. I never really liked the pink look. :D I guess I am biased towards black and dark colors in general.

I agree. I think the 96's had the better color. Also you would think the price of that paint has come down since it first was introduced. The mystichrome's weren't much more money than a standard cobra so the paint had to be relatively the same as others. There is no doubt that it does take a talented bodyman & painter to get the panels perfectly straight and to lay it down and make it uniform so maybe that's where the $$$ adds up.

Yes, very hard to match, and the paint itself isn't cheap. It's harder to lay down and get a uniform coat unlike a regular color paint. The older 96' Cobras with the Mystic look insane when done up with a detail, almost sinister since that version of the paint on that year seems darker and flows more. New ones still look great but IMO have too much bright contrasting going on, but it blings like hell if your into that lol.
