Hey All,

I found a cheaper version of the Cobra Mango Breeze Microfiber Towel. The other towel is a no name brand (workforce) but has the same 80/20 Blend of Polyester. I use the Mango Breeze Towels often and find that they are identical besides the price. Cobra Mango Breeze are 12 for 19.99, and the Workforce ones are 36 80/20 Polyester Blend for 13.00.

With that said my concerns are as stated:
Since the Cobra brand is specifically made for AUTO DETAILING, I am assuming the price points are high for a larger profit. Now the Workforce ones are the same 80/20 Blend, but less than half the price because the price points are set for all purpose use.

So in my conclusion the only reason Cobra Mango Breeze Microfiber Towels are more expensive is because they are marketed towards AUTO DETAILING only.

SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.

*** UPDATE

I forgot to add that the Cobra Towels are 16x16 and the Workforce are 16x12. They are a little shorter.

I bought a dozen of them once and they are junk IMO..they are way over priced for what they are..they are paper thin and edges are not safe. I never looked into the others you are talking about but i would say almost any other MF towel out there is as good or better then those mango breeze towels. I gave half away and others are only used for interior or other misc stuff that has nothing to do with paint

You have had Marring with these?

i bought 36 mango towels and use them for everything EXCEPT paint.
wheels
interior
engine bay etc.

The blend is only part of an equation that makes up the cost of a mf, as polyamide cost more the polyester, so a towel with 80/20 in theory should cost less then a towel of 70/30, meaning polyester/polyamide. The real cost comes in the splitting process, there's only a few manufactures in the world that have the costly machines to really split microfiber with a density higher then 200k+ fibers per sq inch. In general the higher the fiber count the better it will absorb water. Another factor is how the towels are cut, which is another big factor into causing micro marring or scratching the paint surface.

Perfections,

This is the comment/ answer I was looking for. Fantastic write up! I only use these for jambs, interior and dressings for wheel wells. In your opinion, what towels do you suggest or use on paint?

the Rolled edge Cobra towels are my new Favorite towels for my paint.

Well that depends on what your going to be using the towels for, for example, compound/polish removal, wax removal, final buffing, quick detailing or spray waxes, a wash media, drying?

Awesome, I use Eurow Super Plush rated at 660 GSM. About 7 dollars a towel, but if you buy them in bulk they are a little cheaper.

I use those others that are rated at about 300-350 gsm for jambs and interior.

Looking for GSM ratings on Compound, Polish, wax and sealant removal....what gsm rating would you suggest?

Microfiber is very difficult to explain why a certain gsm might or might not be good at removing wax, there's a lot more factors into what makes a towel really excel at any one goal. Ill send you a pm with a link to a very nice article i've read a few times that explains most of the easy questions pertaining to mf. To answer your question though these towels are nice for the price.

Sonus Der Wunder Microfiber Polishing Towels, wax removal cloths, car polish towels, detailing towels

Super Soft Deluxe Microfiber Towels, microfiber detailing towels, buffing towels, micro fiber towel, detail cloth

I use both these towels on my paint and notice no harm i use them for remove wax, sealant etc

But I am a young and new the the detail world I hope my choice in towels are ok and paint safe like they claim
