Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer

I have some matte black wheels and noticed when I was first washing it that the wheels tended to want to spot (did not dry well) so I purchased Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer based upon some reviews by mjlinane on his matte experiences.

The product is pricey ($24.99!) but it has a pleasant scent and does work well.

You can spray on wet wheels, wipe down, and it dries very evenly....even in crevices plus it does make it easier to clean so far.

Note: I cannot say much about a quick attempt to dress the wheels since it has deep crevices. I think I may need a different applicator and matte wheels show everything (like overspray/overwipe). I definitely need to find an efficient way to clean them.

I have matte wheels also, I use a diff matte wheel sealant for my wheels every few months, (unfortunately not sold on AG) but I do use the Chemical Guys after the washes as a maintenance. I love the product, I feel it does a great job.

Since matte wheels aren't coated with clearcoat (obviously), I would recommend a wheel sealant for you, so it doesn't pit your wheels on the inside.

Sounds like a heck of a product Al! More and more cars are coming equipped with flat wheel coatings and this sounds like just the ticket to keep them looking great!

Since matte wheels aren't coated with clearcoat (obviously), I would recommend a wheel sealant for you, so it doesn't pit your wheels on the inside.

Matte finishes do have a clear coat. The matte finish comes from the the way the clear dries. Powder coat has no clear on top.
