Hello all,

I've recently bought a new car and was given a chemical guys gift certificate. I'm going to use it to buy some new microfibre towels but they seem to have so many different ones. I tried speaking to them but their customer service rep wasn't helpful.

I'm after some towels to buff the car after waxing, applying wax, detailer and to dry the car.

I don't want to get something and then realise its off poor quality or scratches the paint.

Thank you !

The 16x16 happy ending towel is good also the yellow with the black silk lining 16x16 is good i think this is the last day for there 15% sale they had a 30% sale a few days ago so hurry if you need the code let me know

The couple of towels I've gotten from them all had tags sewn in on them, and after pulling the tags off the towels kinda start to unravel and fall apart. I get tagless towels from TRC now.

Which ones do you use ?

EE from TRC are very popular and I use their Purplenality for buffing off wax, polish, etc.

TRC towels, are much better. You will not find the 70/30 blend Korean towels at Chem Guys.

If you have a gift cert a.k.a. free money to spend at CG, I recommend their El Gordo Fatty Limes. They are excellent towels; I have had 0 issues with them over 2+ years. I also have their Blue Monsters and those are decent--I use for removing Collinite waxes and Sonax PNS. I have a Grey Matter waffle weave, but the Guzzler sold on AG is of higher quality. I have heard their Wooly Mammoth drying towel is good though.

CG workhorse towels are good and their golds and other plush towels are all good quality

Do yourself a favor and take advantage of the AG Labor Day sale and get some quality MF towels. I personally get them elsewhere but AG sells towels that you can't find anywhere else.

If you have only the best quality microfiber towels for removing polishes and waxes, you'll need some lesser quality towels to use for things you'd never touch using your best towels. Door, hood, and deck lid jambs, wheels etc. This way you won't be tempted to use your best stuff for the dirtier jobs.

Use your gift certificate for soap..they make great soaps and skip the towels.

A certain bulk warehouse retailer sells 36 towels for $15.

The only decent microfiber towels I have are from CG. When I first got them they were amazing compared to my Autozone specials. Lately I've been getting into polishing somewhat seriously and I'm beginning to see these towels fail me. They leave streaks like in windows and when buffing for me. I really like some other CG products, that's how their line seems to work. Just need to find out what you like from them.

Thank you everyone for the replies !!!

I decided to get the MFT edgeless ones and used the CG certificate for other products. Took advantage of the Autogeek sale as well ( shipping killed me though). So glad I was able to buy stuff on sale but also bad cause it tempted me to spend more money

I thought the sale included $6.95 flat rate shipping?
