So I had a nice day to clean my car. So I took the chance I was given.... Since it is winter here, I may not get another chance until spring to do a wax. I only recently got some products so my car had no real wax on it. Just minor topper types.
So the before and after. After the pictures I will post my thoughts on the products used.
3 Days of dirt salt....
The result
Starting off with
Mr.Pink soap
The soap smells really nice, it gives a nice amount of suds to work with, and is very slippery soap. So the cleaning process was very nice. You don't need a lot to get the job done. 1Oz in a 5 Gallon bucket is enough to get to work. You can use more if you want of course.
Pros:
Super slick
PH Balanced - marketing jaz
Lots of Suds
Smell
Don't need to use a lot to get good results.
Price is good
Cons:
None
-------------
Foam Blaster 6 - Foam Gun
I used this as a pre-wash. So I sprayed the car down with it, and than proceeded with my 2 bucket wash. Really simple to use. I also like the included hose attachment as it is useful. The amount of suds I got from just 1 oz of Mr.Pink was very nice, and it worked extremely well. It won't sud up your car like a pressure washer. So if that's what you are looking for than I would not suggest it. However it does a great job at what it is intended to be used for. I really don't have any complaints as of right now.
Pros:
Very easy to use
Good amount of sud generation.
Nice solid hose attachment
Cons:
Little high in terms of price.
--------------
Clay Mit
Very user friendly. I was a little unsure if this was worth the money when I purchased it. However it is re-usable over and over, and is a worth while investment if you do a lot of claying. It seems to work really well. I started to get a little bit of browning on my mitt from the dirt. I didn't have much on my car, but the areas that did were smooth after.
The other advantage is you have a much bigger surface area to work with. However that can also be seen as a con as it is a little awkward in tight places.
Pros:
Seems like it will last long
Covers a large surface area
Comfortable to use in most cases.
Cons:
Little expensive, but this could be worth it depending on length of use.
Awkward in tight places
------------
Pete's 53 Wax
Very easy to get on, if you put too much you may have trouble getting it off. However if you get a nice thin layer like you should. Than it wipes off really nice. The shine and deepness it gave to my black car was really worth the effort of applying it. For a normal priced wax, I would say it is a very nice wax for the price. I don't really have anything bad to say about it. I can't comment on how long it will last yet.
Pros:
Good price for the wax and result
Easy application and wipe off.
Nice deep wet look.
Cons:
None for now.
