Chemical Guys P40 Detailer with Carnauba

We all have our choice of DS and use it often.
Sometimes I want to use one with or without wax.

I ordered a gallon of the P-40 last week and gave it a try as soon as it came it.

According to CG'S you must dilute it 50/50 which is fine by me, gives me two gallons. :dblthumb2:

Smells like a fruit drink of some kind, can't tell you what fruit but it doesn't smell like a chemical of any kind.

I poured half of the P-40 in a 16oz spray bottle then filled it with water.
My sister was here with her 02' Camry which wasn't too dirty, more dusty than anything.
I mist the hood and wiped in a snake pattern, waited a few seconds to see how it reacted, what I saw was a haze, it does have white carnauba in it, anyway buffed it off, very smooth and so very easy to use.
The color of her Doesn't show you a good reflection, sort of a sand color. Boring:(
On the gallon it says DS/WW but find it to be more of a DS.

Soon as it warms up I'll do a RW with DPRW then apply the P-40 so you guys can see how well and easy it is to use.
Like getting two gallons for $30.00. :dblthumb2:
It's extreamly easy to wipe of using a good detail towel.
The P-40 is blue in color.

Never can have enough of DS.:)

-Makes me wonder what chemical(s) are being masked by the fruit-drink aroma.

-I don't believe there is any naturally occurring white carnauba waxes.
Still, though:
Are you suggesting that the haze you saw, is actually a type of a "bleached-out" carnauba wax?

Bob

I'm almost out of p40 not sure if I will buy it again, it does smell good I have never diluted it but it seems to leave a haze. It's kinda a love/hate relationship I have with it. I started using v7 last years seems ok, again on darker colors it leaves a haze that has to be wipe well.

I like CG a lot, but CG P40 QD is subpar compared to D156, Prima Slick, Dodo Red Mist, FK 425, and all the WW by Pinnacle, BF, DP and Ultima.

Like to try prima slick but it's not cheap, finish kare pretty decent.

I called CG'S to ask them if I had to dilute it, they said you must.
When I applied it I didn't see hazing, then again the color wouldn't have allowed me to see it if it was present.

@Bob.

I'm saying it hazed over like a spray wax would do.
It does have wax in it, how much I wouldn't know.

I found it to buff off with just one swipe using a MF towel, no need to buff and buff to remove it.
True test will be when I use it on my black car, the sun will tell all:)

Maybe that's why it's a little hazy needs to be cut. I thought it was rtu.

When reading reviews I read that some had problems with streaking but didn't dilute it where others that did dilute it loved the P-40

If you have a little left why not dilute it 50/50 and see if it helps.
If it does you'll have more to use than you have now, double:iagree:

I have been using p40 for many years. Always diluted 50/50. Smells like bubble gum ice cream to me. Only times I've ever had any streaking problems is when it's really humid.

Maybe so, but it's considerably less money than most of those too. :dblthumb2:

I will cut it 50/50 see what happens. Thanks

I used to use it. I'm a CG fan but when it comes to do a lot and works great for everything Detail Juice is my go to. I will never look back at another spray lube, detailer, wax or sealant again. Until something comes out and crushes it. UWW + is on par with the juice but I like helping out the little guys first.

I have it and didn't know it needed to be diluted. Probably went through 1/4 of the bottle without diluting.

I'm thinking about using it as a drying aid. Has anyone used it as a drying aid? What were the results?

I have used ab out half a gallon and never read the directions. I will dilute it and give it a try. I guess that I now have a gallon left. Thanks for posting. I guess from now on I need to read directions. My wife has told me that for years.

I don't think it's on the directions.
Reason I found out about was reading reviews that some weren't good so I called CG'S , went straigthe to the source , that's when I was told it "Must be diluted "for best results.
You would think they'd put in on the bottle.

Like I said I'm fine with it being one gallon gives me two for the price of one.:dblthumb2:
