Today I tried CG's Silk Shine in the Optima. I was comparing it against another brand's new AIO (SPF+ anti-static) cleaner. In the end I ended up topping the Silk Shine with the AIO to get the Silk Shine's look + SPF + anti-static. The pics show the AIO up top, bare in the middle and silk shine on the bottom. On the steering wheel, AIO was left and silk shine was right. I also liked the smell of silk shine and the fact that it didn't drip on vertical surfaces. Silk Shine is also dry to the touch and not slippery.

Nice. I might try a gallon if at sells it in bulk.

I've bought the CG VRP to refill my bottle of silk shine and it's very similar if not the same as the silk shine. Couldn't find silk shine in a gallon on AG and have had the exact same results from the VRP.

Isn't VRP a gel? Silk shine is a spray.

Nope. Milky liquid. Does settle a little bit but a quick shake before application works wonders.

I still say CG Inner Clean is where it is at, cleans and protects. Silk shine is great though, Wolfgang cockpit sealant is great too!

Excellent review also, love the split shots showing the differences. Very well done.

I did a comparison today and my battery died of course so no photos but the VRP does have a bit more shine to it. I did a half and half of a dash I've been maintaining with Silk Shine and the VRP was a bit glossier.

I like a OEM look. Did you like the glossy or semi-glossy look?

VRP is a gel and can give a very high gloss depending on amount applied, silk shine well on tires that have lines on them, the gel gets clumped up where the silk shine lays in nicely.

If it is a gel, it does just fine in my old silk shine bottle and sprays just as evenly as my silk shine did.

I like the glossy look because I know it's covered and I didn't miss any spots. I don't think the gloss is THAT much more with the VRP it is noticeable though.

Here's a shot a couple hours after the fact.
