Alright here goes my review for Chemical Guys product wax in which I have about a year and a half using them. You may ask...Where did you get all the money and how much did you spend on those worthless products? To be honest at the time I was flying for an airline and had spare money to spend, another advantage was that my neighbor use to work for them in which he would give me a 35% discount of the products and got some free products when I spend certain amount. To be honest I really like all the waxes that they have (the ones I have) in which yes, some do have flaws and I will also talk about my experience. To Start off I will review the following:

Lava luminous Glow Infusion: This is a great product for cars that are bright such as red, metallic blue, candy paint, and etc. The texture is pretty soft such as a paste form in where the scent is really good. Almost like an orange smell to it in which makes it pleasant to work with. This wax tends to bring the life out of the colors making it look brighter and as well a nice pleasant view. The wax is easy to use (if your using a portal cable DA) but as for manual application I personally do not recommend it since it's pretty easy to over spread this product. The wax does give that pop to bring the color out and can be used in carbon fiber material. Now the down side of this product is that it tends to last for a shorp period of time if you tend to leave your car parked outside uncovered. Beading the water off your car is pretty poor since I seen it during rainy season. This is not your best option to use if you want to protect you paint.

Chemical Guys Concoure 50/50: I tend to use this wax most of the time when I really want some protection in my paint as well to bring some shine out. The texture is a paste wax in where I strongly recommend it to apply it manually. The advantage about this wax is that you need to apply a very thin layer of it in order to see some results. The oil that this wax contains does an amazing job on beading any water off your paint. So far this wax has done a great job on protecting my paint, longer shine life to the paint, and as well the easiness to work with. To be honest it's pretty hard to over work with this wax. It has a nice banana smell to it in which makes it great to work with. I understand that you need to let the product sit for 20 minutes in which I personally think that is a bit too long. Once it hazes it becomes a bit difficult to remove in which you will be doing about 3 passes in order to remove the wax completely from the paint. I have washed my car two weeks after application in which it did an amazing job preventing any dirt sticking to the paint. It did made me wash much more easier in where I just needed a simple wash without needing to add a coat of wax. If you have custom paint I highly recommend this product!

Chemical Guys: Black: First let me start off that it has a very good smell to it...grape! The texture is much more softer than Lava luminous glow infusion. I suggest to apply this by a DA machine with a pad (I personally use a 5" black hex pad). The biggest advantage of this product is that you need small small amount of it since it's super easy to overspread this product on your car. This product tends to work very good with dark colors such as any shade close to black and of course black! Yes it tends to give a nice dark glossy shine to the paint in which I have used it on my brothers 2008 Mustang GT "Pegasus". The results was flawless and as well made the color stand out more. Again...this product is like LAVA in where for protection and water beading is poor. The shine tends to last about a week and a half and as from protection is poor. As for removing is pretty simple, the problem is that you will need to make sure you have removed the product properly. I had to double check that I didn't let any product behind in which I constantly had to see the area I was working with at an angle to ensure I removed everything. Bottom line: Great to pop out dark colors but as for protection yeah use something better.

Pete's 53 Black Pearl paste wax: This wax is pretty good and I really love the fact that you can wipe on and wipe off without having any waiting time. To be honest the results are very good, protection wise is good, and as well does tend to give a nice glossy finish. The protection on this is great and easy to work with. Traditionally some waxes are recommended to let it haze in order to achieve the results and allow the product to do what its suppose to do. From personal experience don't allow this wax to sit in your paint as traditional wax, why? It becomes difficult to remove from the paint. I literally felt like if I did a work out once I fully removed this product since I let it sit for 15 minutes. I really recommend this product if you want to get shine, gloss, and also can be used for any color. If manual application is not your thing I wouldn't recommend this product at all.

Celeste Dettaglio (Carnuba Paste Wax): Here we go with the wax that is pretty expensive. I would say its a nice pretty luxurious wax in where you do get for what you paid for (in my opinion). The wax does tend to have a nice fresh fragrance smell almost such as baby powder type of feeling. I really enjoyed working with this wax and also love the results! It's very easy to apply to the paint and as well to work with since the texture is a bit different from the 50/50 and Pete's 53. It does have a 15 minute hazing time to allow the wax to bond with the paint. The product does give a nice deep glossy look, protection from water is great, and as well the wax tends to last for a longer period of time. I was very impressed on how the water was beading off from the paint when I washed it two weeks later after its last application. As it is easy to apply, the removal process tends to be a bit difficult in where you will need to work that elbow grease pretty good. Don't let this discourage you from applying it since the results are amazing. Yes with the purchase of the wax tends to include a nice black carrying pouch with it (I guess to make it seem more luxurious). If money is not a problem I recommend on getting this wax, typically I still have my tub for a year in which I do plan on using it on my 1972 Chevelle SS once I get it. If money is not a concern get this wax, if it is and you want something similar to this I suggest to get the concours 50/50 which will do almost the same results just the lifespan of the product will be less than the Celeste Dettaglio.

This review is based on my experience in which I am sure that some of you have other preference of wax in which is fine. Personally I think I will just stick with CG 50/50, Pete's 53, and Celeste Dettaglio for my own personal use since so far they still haven't let me down. As for the other two waxes, I think that they are over priced for the results that you get I mostly see them as a gloss enhancer in order to make the color pop out even more. Lava is mostly like for metallica and candy type of paints in order to get that color to pop out or custom paint jobs but please don't expect to hold up like a traditional wax. Black is great to make dark colors stand out but unfortunately it's the same thing as Lava. I have attached from pictures of the results.

I attached pictures of each wax along with them open in order to get a preview of the product. The first picture contains the Mustang with Black wax as you can see the results, the second picture contains the result of the Pete's 53, as for my Honda it has Lava in where you can see the shine out of it. I tried attaching a picture or the Concours 50/50 which for some reason I was not able to upload and as well for the Celeste Dettaglio.

A very comprehensive review, I will be trying 50/50 soon over Jetseal 109, unfortunately it is on Pearl White. The results on a solid Black car are so much more dramatic.

Thorough review. I use Lava on my Passat before shows because it makes the Tornado Red pop. I have not experienced it to where it has poor beading properties.

Very nice review. I have a jar of Lava that I need to try. I agree with your opinions of 50/50 and Petes. Both are great waxes.

One of the best Chemical wax reviews I've ever read.
Good job and thank you, I was always curious about the Pete's wax so you explain it well enough for me:)

Very nice product review with that said I would consider a chemical guys wax/product based on your review cause it was a real review that won't get deleted... great job

Good review. I'm a big chemical guys fan. Have a lot of there stuff. Have you use black light?

In fact I got three tubes of it and it is awesome product, it is easy to work with, easy to apply, and has a very great smell to it. Just one thing thou is that you cannot apply it on top of a glaze since it will knock off the results of the glaze. I once applied Wet Mirror Finish and then applied Blacklight on top of it and to be honest, it was a lost cause since blacklight removed the polish that wet mirror finish did. It is really great to use it along with the Hybrid V-07

I have some but have not used it yet. Just opened it And i agree it does smell good

Great guide and thank you for putting it together! I honestly have heard pretty good things about CG waxes and am glad to hear that you enjoyed them as well. It seems even the bad ones would be good for some situations (like before an event when the look is everything and beading/durability don't matter).

I will absolutely reference this next time I'm looking for their wax. Happy detailing!
