I purchased this stuff maybe a couple of months ago, finally got around to trying it. The wax is intended for use on white cars but as most of us know it would do fine on any color car. I properly cleaned the vehicle before use as well.

The wax is in a paste jar but has a more liquid consistency. It resembles yoghurt more than anything else. I applied the wax by hand and found it very difficult to apply. It was very draggy, and made the pad extremely resistant to glide across the paint. I tried thin and thick layers, and a thicker layer proved to spread easier but that is obviously improper usage.

I let the wax set up for maybe 30 min and wiped clean. I have never used anything so difficult. I ended up having to go over the car twice with V07 and a microfiber to get all the wax residue off. There was no dusting from from White Wax but it was by far the most difficult wax I have ever used. I think you can do a lot better for your money with other products.

Here's a video I found. I have never used Chemical Guy's White Wax. Looks pretty accurate of what you described from the video though.

  • Designed specifically for white colored paintwork
  • Maximum shine and clarity
  • Durable Protection
  • Advanced UV Protection
  • Paintwork cleansing formula
  • Color enhancing technology

I use Dodo Diamond White, and I love that wax. I thought this would be a fun comparison but quite frankly, I don't care how long it lasts. It doesn't give that deep shine, and it is a PITA to apply and remove.

You used way too much product if it didn't come off nicely, I got to play with white wax at their detail facility/store and literally has to be applied thinner than anything ever, work it well, let it set for 10 min

Did you try machine application? Much easier to do a thin layer, I have found with other waxes.

How would you say it compares to BlackICE or Fuzion in terms of easy to use?

I just recently tried the Chemical Guys White Wax, I purchased on AG for 69.99 plus 20% off and free shipping, so total came out to $56 and imho this wax isn't worth the time of day. Waste of $56 bucks.

My wife's 2013 white pathfinder received some love this past weekend. Started out by washing, decon, claying, then Menzerna PF2500 (amazing 1 step, everyone should have this in their arsenal).

So here comes the CG White Wax. I'm super excited to try it, because my daily driver is also white. Not sure what I was looking for or thinking when I bought it, but I suppose we are all guilty of falling for a marketing scheme every once in a while and this is what CG white wax is.

1. The products is very liquidy. Smells amazing. I pictured myself on a beach enjoying an umbrella drink instantaneously.
2. The application of the product was difficult if you compare it to fuzion (as above poster asked) or to something like collinite #915 (something we can all afford). Does not spread easy as it should for the cost. It makes for a thin layer application a bit difficult.
3. Waited 5-10 min and proceeded to remove the product and it was a MAJOR pain in the rear. Before anyone says "You applied it too thick!" - I did not! I had a nice thin coat. Watch the video, even the CG guy is struggling to remove it from the bimmer.

So after all the struggle, was it worth it? Let me put it like this, the product is advertised as the "brightest shade of white" and while it is shiny, so is my panel treated with collinite 915. The difference is, one was a breeze and one was a pain, one was $30 and the other $60.

If anyone wants to try it, PM me and I'll send you the whole jar, like I said, used only for one application so it's pretty much full. I'll trade you for a micro fiber towel :) j/k. A prepaid shipping label will do.

I feel the same way about Lava and I think this and their black goop are just reiterations of each.

iLian11,
Let's compare wasting and see if I can brighten your day.
Yesterday, I melted my nearly-full tub of auto glym in an attempt to rehydrate it. I mixed in some meg's liquid wax, let it re-harden, and it came out even harder than when I started. It's unusable. (crying sounds...)

Ha! sorry for your loss.

Another quirk for CG White Wax. If you make a wax "specifically" for white cars, add some darn color to it so I can see it. :bash:

Ya it is impossible to see on white. I used it on my silver Accord and could barely see it because I applied it so thin ;). Worst wax I have ever used hands down. It is for sale if anyone loves it and wants another tub.

This whole thread = LoLz

If you ever do this again, instead of mixing liquid sealants - try adding equal amounts of mineral spirits an coconut oil. Add an exact amount - just enough; but not too much.

😄

What are your thoughts on autoglym?

I would say it doesn't hold a candle, the other two are far better in all aspects imo....i am a CG fan, some stuff is great, other stuff, meh....this is meh....

I was thinking of getting that wax but was like screw it! I stick with my Concours 50/50 and Lava Glow in which is does great on any color, I am saying it by experience. By accident I let Petes black pear sit in the paint for a long period of time, I still have residue left over and cannot remove it. Just stick to those and you will be fine.

Chemical guys just have no quality control . All there sealants are junk . Don't waste you time. For $70 you could get two cans of SPNS .

I sold my White wax on eBay. I won't ever buy a wax from CG again because of this.

I had the same experience the fort time i used GC White. But the second time I use it I applied it with a DA Polisher and blue pad. Went on easy, let it dry for 20-30 minute and it wiped away pretty easy (not as easy as a sealant or their 5050 but a lot easier than before). Results were great, car look great.
