How often do you need to use a chemical polish like Wolfy paintwork polish enhancer or Pinnacle cleansing lotion?

I was really amazed what a difference it made in the flake on the detail I did this weekend.

Jenn

Both products are non-abrasive and are designed to chemically clean the paint, removing old wax to ensure a clean surface for a fresh coat of wax or sealant. Use either one before applying a fresh coat of wax or sealant so you get the best durability and shine out of your LSP. :props:

Nick nailed it of course. I use the Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer before winter and summer to remove all the sealants and wax on the surface so I know I am starting off on a clean surface and whatever LSP I use bonds perfect with the paint.

Are the mild swirl removers like PB polish and PB Polish 2 chemical or abrasive and do they cut?

Jenn

Swirl removers are abrasive. This is necessary so they can level the paint to remove defects. If your paint is in great shape, meaning it has no swirls or scratches, a chemical cleaner is the ideal method of prepping the paint before applying a wax or sealant.

i used P21S paint cleanser before i did two coats of SNH this week. set up the paint to perfection to receive the SNH. as nick mentioned, i have a 2010, so the paint just needed the prior product removed. i also used griots paint prep before P21S. product is amazing for removing current wax/sealant.

PB Pro Polish is a chemical polish with no abrasives
PB Pro Polish 2 is a chemical polish with abrasives in it.

Remember you media is also factored into the cutting ability, so it is possible to get some cut with a non-abrasive polish if you use a pad that is capable of cutting.

The Pinnacle product was a little difficult to work with (difficult to remove). Are any of the others easier to use?

Dodo lime prime lite is super easy to use. The regular lime prime has abrasives, the lite version does not.

I found that the Pinnacle is easy to work with. Where were you having trouble? machine application or hand?

Perhaps you would have better luck with the P21S paintwork cleaner. I have been using that for years with great luck and it is a very affordable product.

I was applying by hand with a microfiber applicator. It just seemed hard to remove. Maybe I left it on too long or something. I can't remember if I did each panel and then wiped off or went around the entire care before I removed. Maybe that makes a difference.

It does see quite affordable. I might just try some.

I just use them to strip down at each complete detail on my cars if no swirls. Usually each 6 mos. Used to use Pinnacle. Last detail Klasse AIO. I still use PB Pro Polish to get under door handles or any problem areas each time I wax (every few weeks or more).

Jenn, your problem may be that you were letting the product dry. Remove as soon as you are done working an area.

Ahhh...that may have been the problem.

Thanks....hopefully I won't have to do it for another few months. Probably my pre-winter 845 or WDGPS.

And to hijack my own thread....is WDGPS easy or difficult to work with?

Jenn

Very easy when you do it wrong like I did, lol. I wowo. Members here said to leave it on for 30 minutes before wo.

WGDGPS is super easy to work with. It should be applied thinly and allowed to sit on the paint for 30-45 min to properly bond then it can be removed.

hmm, maybe I will go ahead and try it then. I read in two thread, dodo juice guy himself saying it could be a ##### to work with - so that put me off.

Bingo and just throwing it out there we have been able to remove wet sanding marks with regular PP and time and a cutting pad
