Ok, so my Dad has an SSR and the side steps are a black plastic/rubber that over the years is getting a glossy coat on them and although still black could look a heck of a lot better. I've used detergents, blue scrub pads and other various remedies to fix them and bring the truck back to the showroom look. Putting product on them just sits and isn't being absorbed.

Does anyone have a suggestion for this? I have a PC 7424XP. Is there an attachment for it? Do y'all have a cleaner/conditioner for the rubber?

His truck looks great other than these black steps. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it!

Hes asking HOW to clean them. I would personally post some pictures of what you have, that may help people give you suggestions.

Ive had really good luck with the mothers back to black exterior trim cleaner. Follow up with WETS and should be like new.

Well, considering the vehicle is in Las Vegas and I'm in Colorado and the folks aren't that computer literate.... Gimme a few days on this.....

Well, maybe someone can help anyway! lol. But if you get some pix post em for sure it would really help

As a detailer and also a two-time Chevy SSR owner, I can tell you the best thing for this is magic eraser. Wet it and get to scrubbing. I have pretty much tried everything in this work the best. The runningboards on my automatic were horrible and after about an hour each worth of scrubbing they looked new.

Another option that a lot of SSR owners go for is to have the area that is black vinyl removed and line-X applied.

ding ding ding, we have a winner.
Thank you everyone for the input. I'll take the advice and post photos of the before and after.
Cheers!
