This was the largest vehicle I've detailed. I normally don't detail vehicles this large, but the customer is a friend so I made an exception.

Clay - the right side wheels wells were covered in white paint. Took forever to get it off.
SIP with foamed wool
PO106FF with white pad
PB's trim restorer
Pete's 53

Tail light before and after. I used a 4" spot pad and OP.

Afters. The sun's behind clouds today, so no direct sun shots.

Lookin good - that had to hurt to detail that entire truck!

I have a guy who works for me though who just bought a Suburban and we are going to do the whole thing up nice for him before he leaves in October as a going-away gift. Any tricks you can recommend to make it go faster/smoother?

Just make sure you set aside plenty of time. I'd also suggest using a rotary to cut down the work time. Other than the size it was a relatively easy vehicle to work on since it sits up high. No bending or lying on the ground during polishing. My two step step stool was barely tall enough to allow me to access the roof, so make sure you have one tall enough to access it.

The owner has four cars...all huge. The next one will be a GMC (not sure of the model), but it's black and the owner says it's even longer than the Suburban. That'll be fun.

Very nice detail, looks big but you know what they say about giants the bigger they are the harder they fall...in this case the bigger they are the better they look ;)

Vehicle looks great and the rear lights look really nice.

I always enjoy reading and seeing your posts my friend, thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Nica. I always enjoy your feedback.

Another thing about large vehicles...the bigger they are the more they pay. :)

Looks like you just drove it home from the lot, if not better!! Awesome depth for such in between color.

Love the tip on the OP on the plastic lense.

What did you use on the tires? Love that matte sheen they have.

great job, that's a huge truck. You must be tired after detailing one of those...

I used DP Wheel Gell. I really like it. Just the right amount of gloss for my tastes. Seems to last a decent amount of time as well.

I like it to! have had up to 14 days durability.

Great work on that huge Sub! Paint looks nice and wet.
