2003 White Chevy TrailBlazer

Wash
Hose down
DG 901 – This stuff has that irresistible cherry scent and foams well with a foam gun.
Black ShMitt
2 bucket method
Guzzler – I finally got an Ultimate Guzzler and you all were right in saying how great it is. I love this thing, glad I bought 2!
Engine
DP Engine Degreaser – this is so easy to use. Hose down the engine, spray, let it dwell for a few minutes, agitate with a brush and then rinse.
303 Protectant – used to touch up hoses and black plastic.
Tires/Wells
DP Wheel Gel with black ShMitt. The crud just melted off the tires with the DP Wheel Gel. It was cool to watch the tires come back to life.
AA Extreme Gel wiped down with mf
AA Tire foam in the wells to clean them up followed by a brush and the Black ShMitt
DP Wheel Glaze
Interior
The owner of this truck is a close friend of mine. It’s obvious that being a Geek is not contagious because she could care less about the condition of her truck.
Full vacuum and interior wipe down followed by DP Surface Protectant. I used Folex on the mats and the interior spots. There was one big stain (I think it was Coke) on the backseat floor. Using Folex and a wet mf the stain picked right up.
Trim
First time using PB Trim Restorer and I was lovin’ this product. This truck had some really tired faded trim and PBTR brought it back. It had a thicker consistency than I expected but it was simple to apply and it left the trim looking like new. This may be a keeper for me once I see how long it lasts.
Windows
Diamondite Perfect Vision and a Cobra Waffle Weave MF Glass towel were used on all glass and mirrors. I’ve been using this combo for windows and it works really well although I want to try DP Crystal Vision and will probably get some when I run low on Diamondite.
The windows on this truck had not been cleaned in a loooonnnggg time. I am not exaggerating. Last August we went on a road trip downstate and used a Nav system that suctioned to the window. Yep, the outline from the suction cup was still there. Yuk. To add to this the owner is a smoker and she takes her dog everywhere she goes, even to work.
Paint
The paint on this truck was not bad but it did have a few rough spots. The back driver’s side rear quarter panel had a few rather large scrapes with paint transfer from hitting another vehicle. Don’t ask. The owner commutes on a road that is loaded with gravel trucks from nearby quarries which has resulted in a a ton of paint chips all over the front bumper and hood. As far as swirl condition it was actually not too bad.
XMT 360 – This was the first time I used 360. I read that 360 disappeared quickly and yet I was still surprised by its vanishing act. This stuff is awesome and I was very pleased with the results and the scent. As I used it I could immediately see a difference in the paint. 360 cleaned it up very nicely and left it very smooth to the touch. My blue Edge pad showed how much cleaning capability 360 has and I could tell on the truck where I used it although at times I thought I was going snow blind from all this whiteness.
On the problem areas I broke out my orange 4” Edge pad with XMT 4 and this took care of all of the scratches and the paint transfer scrapes.
LSP
I’ve wanted to see in person how Max Wax looks on a white vehicle and now I had my chance. Max Wax is so easy to use and I am always impressed by the results. This wax left the truck looking like it glowed. Unfortunately the sun disappeared when it came time to take the “after” shots but I think the pics still show some decent reflection and shine. My friend looked at it and said “now that’s white!”

As always, questions and comments are appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

Looking good, nice and wet. Gotta love that Armor All Tire Foam and Extreme Gel, some of my favorite products.

Wow. That looked like a lot of hard work, but what a great change.

Looks awesome! Although I'm not a big fan of white suvs, this Chevy just looks great!

AA rules in the wells and engine bay..

Great work AL

Alice,
Very good write up, thanks for all your time and effort.
The interior looks like a big project on it's own, but the results were very nice.
The overall job is First Class for sure.
So how dose the dog put up with the smoke :-)))

Al, great work on the T.Blazer. The white has a nice shine to it.
Did you have any problem with the XMT360 and the pin stripeing

Thanks for the kind words Ed. As far as the dog with the smoke, Digger the Dog smokes too. I think he's at a half a pack a day right now.:p

No problems at all with XMT360 and the pinstripes. I just buffed right over them although I am careful when it comes to striping or decals. Thank you for your positive feedback.

Dang, that interior and those windows were awful! You made them look new again. The white paint looks really good. DP Max Wax has never let me down! I've got DP Gel Wheel cleaner on order & I can't wait to try it out.

Thanks for the great write-up. It is a good read! Again, great work!!!

I think that interior got its first detail ever! Very nice job, those windows would have killed me, I hate doing windows.

That was the first time the interior was detailed and dog snot was everywhere. I love that dog but boy what a mess. The saving grace was that he doesn't shed.

I agree with everyone else that you did an excellent job especially on the inside. I have one question what is up with the bottom lights in this picture? They looks like they are on fire:D Maybe it is just me and one to many of these:cheers:
