Does anyone think that Chip Foose really uses Mothers on all the cars he does? I just seen one of his commercials and it got me thinking about it. What do yall think?

as much as they probably pay him to i am sure he does, or at least in front of the cameras. i know i would:D

Let me say this, I used to work for Mark Harmon he's in the NCIS and St Elsewhere
He did a Coors beer comercial , they gave him money and all the beer he wanted!
He used to tell me "Please take all the beer you want , they bring it every two weeks if I drink it or not"
So I did!
Point being, if you watch his show Overhaulin etc. and see all the banners hanging up they are paid to hang those brands up, NOTHING is free!
Watch drag racing when a driver wins, someone shoves a bottle of gator aid in his hand, they put on their Castrol oil cap and run down the list of sponsers that pay them to run!

I have met Chip he's a nice guy, does he use Mothers wax yes, but I'm sure he's paid well to do it!

Probably for the cameras...bet he was using a paintball.

Nah it was some kind of spray wax and he was using a microfiber towel wiping it all down. I couldent see what brand the spray stuff was though

I did see a Mother's Pro-bottle (or a bottle that looks like it) on an episode of Overhaulin' zo I think they do use it on the overhaulin cars.

I bet he at least uses the Mothers bottles.... As for the product inside the bottles, who knows.

The fact that he holds a Mothers bottle in a commercial holds no weight in my opinion of that product. It just means that they have the marketing budget to get Chip Foose.

That being said, I'm sure Chip Foose can get a car looking MUCH nicer using OTC Mothers products, than I could using the best of the best boutique products.

I'm not sure what causes a statement like this, but we've known Chip for many years, long before he was a "somebody". Chip is truly one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Chip was a friend long before he was a spokesman for Mothers, and yes, he does use our products. He's helped us over the years, and we've helped him.

That's what friends do.

I can't do anything about the cynicism expressed here, and I don't know if you believe me or not; but yes, he uses our products.

I'm a huge fan of chip foose. I was just curious on what he uses on the cars he does cause they all look amazing. The terracuda especially

He sure does use Mothers and from what I got from spending 3 days with him last year he would use them even if he was not a spokes person for them. One of the nicest people that you will ever meet.

It helps using quality products, but as you know, prep work is everything.

If you've seen the quality of the cars he builds, you'll understand why they look as good as they do - his prep work is fantastic.

He's a real detail oriented guy and his prep work is flawless .

And he is also not afraid to drive the cars that he builds. He had the Terracuda at the 2009 Mopars at the Strip and drove it from the track to the Cannery Hotel for the concert.

Overhaulin' isnt just a commercial. I saw somebody in the background holding the bottle, and polishing the stuff that comes out. I don't think they go through alot of trouble empying the bottle, cleaning it and putting something else in it.

I wish could meet Chip someday but I don't think that's going to happen.

Don't forget they wetsand the entire car after fresh paint and than polish it so it looks absolutely stunning. It's very hard or impossible to do that with factory paint simply because there isn't enough clearcote on the car.

I use several Mother's product and I love them all.

Luckly I live about 15 miles from Year One, where they hold a Braslton Bash every month there, and Chip Foose brings a few of his car's to the event's twice a year. Next time I see him there I will ask him what he uses! lol

I doubt a person of Foose's level wouldn't use what he advertises. Putting your name on the line is a big deal when you are at that level. If/when you start pushing crap you loose credibility.

Just slightly off-topic, but I've always wondered why the auto care product industry doesn't do more promotion of their OTC lines using celebrity endorsers.

So much marketing seems to be directed at the few thousand of us Geeks. Sure, it's a big market, but why scrap over our limited numbers?

Think about the hundreds of thousands of vehicles on the road at this moment that are never polished, waxed, or even washed. Now there's an untapped market segment!

Chip Foose, Jesse James, some MMA guy, etc., can make cleaning your car cool again. Danica Patrick could make me spend all my money on non-diminishing abrasives and carnauba! (Wait a minute... I do that anyway.)
