Citrol vs Rapid Remover for removing baked on Tar, Sap, and Adhesives

I'm about to finish my first gallon of rapid remover. It is by far the most impressive adhesive remover I've ever used.

I've heard several detailers recommend Schaeffer's citrol degreaser due to the fact that it utilizes similar citrus solvents. Although it appears Citrol can actually be diluted which I find appealing. I can get a gallon of Citrol or rapid remover for virtually the same price. If anyone has had experience with either of these solvents or can recommend something even better to buy (by the gallon) I would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you!!!
 
I bought two gallons of Meguiars degreaser. Used on my SIL Honda Fit this morning to soften and remove baked on road tar

thanks for the response. what was your dilution? In my experience D108 super degreaser doesn't touch road tar or adhesive residue.

Not sure if you have come across this channel, but look up "Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing" on youtube and there is a guy named Scott who has videos of using citrol for adhesive, bug guts, tar, and even removing water spots. Judging from the videos it seems to be highly effective.

Citrol sounds similar to the product that I use called MPC Orange Solv.

I use it close to straight for things like tar, grease, oil, gum, ink, and adhesive removal.

It's my favorite nasty interior cleaner using at around 4-6 oz per gallon.

You have to be somewhat cautious with it. Not really anymore than like using strong alkaline APC, but these citrus solvent cleaners make most APCs seem weak in comparison.
 
Citrol has caused me to discard virtually every bug, tar, and adhesive remover I had....and I had lots. I keep Citrol diluted 3:1 for stubborn carpet, and I use it straight for bug and tar. I keep Rapid Remover as I feel it's still stronger than Citrol straight. Usually though, Citrol takes care of it 90% of the time.
 
I just purchased my first gallon of Rapid Remover and will try it tomorrow on a sticker removal contract.

Have any of you used it on tar so far? I usually use Gtechniq Tar and adhesive remover for that but if Rapid remover works as well, I might simply switch completelly.

Also how is it on grease and oil? I often have to use the tar remover to clean door jambs that have heavy grease or oil on them, would rapid remover work on that too?

Finally, do you guys think Orange degreasers could do the same job for cheaper? Here a gallon of rapid remover sells for 120$. A gallon of Zep Orange degreaser concentrate would cost me about 20$... so if it could do the same job for adhesives, tar and grease it might be the best thing to use. Anyone ever tried?
