So we've all probably seen worse, but still a horror story so sit back and enjoy.
I work at a Porsche store, one of the sales guys got his Mercedes "detailed" by one of the "detailers".. To make a long story short he used microfiber compound with a heavy cutting pad on a rotary buffer. He tore off all the plasti-dipped badges, burnt some of the vinyl wrapped trim and of course left a plethora of holograms. The owner was more than pleased. So after talking with the owner he had me take a crack at fixing this mess.
Because my polishes were limited to XMT and 3M, I went over to the chemical guys showroom to try their "v line" of DAT polishes that are supposed to be ceramic clear coat safe. I still can't believe no one sells menzerna polishes in Los Angeles, P.S. if anyone knows of a place pm me.
Anyway, I really love the chemical guys showroom, although fyi the workers weren't knowledgable in their products... I had him call someone else from the back who was a little bit more knowledgable in their polishes. He took me in back and let me sample the polishes on a hood, I really liked that.
For this Correction, knowing how hard the ceramic clear coats are on these cars I went with a 6" microfiber cutting pad with their v36 cutting polish then finished with their p40 finishing polish via a 6" finishing CSS pad via porter cable 7424xp.

Washed, clayed and prepped.

Holograms were not correcting as we'll as I liked, a more aggressive polish would have helped, (A more powerful DA polisher would have helped too..) but knowing the client, a 3 step polish wasn't realistic...I inspected the hood in the sun and saw about an 85%-90% hologram free finish. (The worst panel of car). Because the client was concerned about holograms I held off on any wax or sealant. I will be inspecting the rest of the car tomorrow to see how well the 2 step removed the holograms.
Some after pics!

Feed back appreciated. Overall I liked v36, was easy to work and with the microfiber, no dusting Or mess which is always nice! P40 is pretty nice as well, iv used it a little in the past on a tesla I wrote up here, super fine and pretty oily, gloss to the max!
I will be taking some after shots tomorrow in the sun .
Thanks for reading, feedback and constructive criticism appreciated!
