I have a question on this. I recently purchased a new car. I washed it with dawn soap, then did a clay bar treatment. Then I put on my polish zaino z2 that I am new too. I don't have a garage so my question is can I apply more wax a week or two later without doing the clay bar again.

Yeah, you won't need to clay it again so soon.

There really isn't a set time frame that is recommended is it? I would image that you would only need to clay bar when needed. As in after doing the baggie test.

There is lot of variables, location, weather, parking, temperature, etc. Like the Junkman said, "clay when the bag tells you." Use the baggy test..

What about after a heavy few days of rain and highway driving?

Well, of course every case is different. If in a weeks time you drove in harsh conditions, or had the paint contaminated in any way, then yes, clay or clay mitt would be in order before then again polishing the vehicle and waxing. (Ideally).

to echo what everyone else said, everyone's environment is different so some may have to do it sooner than others...

Atleast coming out of and going into winter, medium grade but a fine grade towel or mitt should be used monthly IMO if you really wanna keep up on your paint, I do👈

I clay once a year, then polish, then sealant.

Totally agree. I typically clay twice a year when I do my Spring/Fall major detail sessions when I apply the LSP.

After the last couple of times I've clayed, I'm starting to think it's overkill. A baggie test reveals very little contamination and my clay visually shows almost nothing. Going forward I think I'll reserve claying for the Spring in order to deep clean away all the grime from winter.

Did you understand the poster telling you how to use the "baggie" test? I know how to do it but couldn't follow those directions.
