Is it ok to use clay or a decon mitt on glass? It's the easiest way I've found to remove hard water spots. Does this damage or remove any coating or anything on the glass? Thank you.

yeah. I have the Griot's glass cleaning clay that I use on my windshield.

Most synthetic clay mitts and blocks they recommend breaking it in on glass,
I would dare say the coating might be affected just re apply but you will give the glass a good clean.

I remember the first clay mitt I bought years ago, the instructions said to use it on glass before using it on paint, to prevent/reduce marring on the paint.

I was referring to a UV coating or other coating that may have been applied when the glass was made.

That UV coating is actually sandwiched in between the glass… Impossible for you to touch it.

I've never had an issues with either a clay mitt or clay bar on glass. I've had to use them a few times over the years to remove stubborn bug splatters that couldn't be removed with chemicals.
