I can't clean the windshield without streaking.
I use a combination of paper towel and microfiber towels.
There is always streaks on the glass.

Can anyone offer me advice on cleaning windshield? I am so frustrated with this issue.

What glass cleaner are you using? Is there any coating on the glass (ie Sealant, Wax, etc)?

I use chemical guys glass cleaner. There is no wax or other coating on windshe.

I clean the windshield with paper towel first to get rid of heavy stains then follow up with microfiber towel

Invisible glass and a fresh virgin MF Rag. If you're still getting streaks try wiping it down with alcohol first then use Invisible Glass. Could be a ton of evaporated solvents on it, especially on newer cars where the interiors gas-off for a while.

Interior glass cleaning was always a pain, until I used this! No cleaners needed. Never would have believed it till I used it. Clean streak free glass!

Here is what I’ve been doing after finding it on YouTube:

Step 1 - get a magic eraser(or store brand they are all the same), spray it with an APC the rub on glass. Mop up with a microfiber towel or I’m sure a paper towel will work just fine also.

Step 2 - Now use a glass cleaner of choice. Again mop up when done.

Step 3 - Spray on and wipe off a spray wax. This will make future cleanings easier and act like rainx.

It might be over kill but I repeat each step twice and do both inside and outside glass.

Don’t use this method on third party tinted windows.

My process is simple. 2 microfiber towels, one for cleaning and one for buffing. I spray one spray of a select glass cleaner on the window and a few on the towel. Wipe the whole window down and switch to the buffing towel. Try to switch and buff off excess cleaner as fast as you can so it dosnt dry and streak. Hasn’t let me down yet.

Over the years (and I'm 65) I've tried many cleaners and methods for glass and have found that what works today might not work tomorrow. You think you've finally got it figured out when you get some really nice results only to find that the exact same product and process might not work as well next week.

That said, my best results recently have been with using plain ole water and multiple cotton terry cloth towels for the final wipe.

I would stick to cloths (micro fiber usually preferred) that have only been used on glass.

I 100% gave up on spray type glass cleaners and towels. It never worked for ever. So I stick with McKees 20/20 Cockpit glass polish for interior glass and Black Label coating detailer or cleansing polish for exterior glass. Exterior glass is coated and cleansing polish leaves it spotless.

Just got these last night on UD's recommendation.

Wet, wring out, and wipe. I cannot believe what I've been missing. I feel like an a$$ chasing my interior glass streaks all these years with cleaners, WW towels, etc.

I haven't been this happy since I first tried HD Speed..............:xyxthumbs:

My man! On your recommendation I tried the HD Polish+ and it is a superb product. I have been wasting my time with Megs Ultimate all these years.

I had the same problem. What i been doing is using a magic eraser. Normally i would spray the magic eraser with glass cleaner and wipe vertically on the outside of the windshield and horizontally on the inside wiped off with a glass cleaning towel. Never had streaks again!:xyxthumbs:

Dedicated towels is on method that can help with this, preferably high GSM waffle weave.

I agree glass towels need to be only used for glass cleaning. Before i started segregating my glass towels, I always had streaking issues.

Someone recommend cleaning the windshield with alcohol. How does alcohol work in glass?
