The NXT thread got me thinking....
What is the proper detailer's definition of a cleaner and a polish when it comes to paint? Maybe its just me but it seems that these 2 terms are used very loosely.
I have seen the term cleaner used for compounds and waxes and I have seen the term polish used for compounds and glazes. Obviously compound cuts, glaze fills and wax most often fills as well.

You will find your answer right there. Every definition you will want to know!

These terms are pretty clear to me and I am probably being too anal but for a novice, when someone tells them "you need to polish" it can be interpretted in 2 ways. Level the paint by 1. cutting with the use of an abrassive or by 2. filling with a glaze.

Btw... this thread was not for me but for the beginners that are scratching their heads thinking what are these people talking about?!?!?

Yeah... I have too much time on my hands. Slow at work today :)
