Welcome everyone to my review of the Cleanfreak 3 Gallon spot carpet extractor. I had bought this for a few reasons:
1. Water capacity
2. Amount of lift
3. Portability
4. Price
When I was looking for a carpet extractor I knew that I wanted something that was going to be easy to use, very portable, and has good lift. After months of researching, looking all over the web, and comparing different models in the spot cleaning department I finally settled on the one I'm about to review.
Upon the beginning of my search I looked at numerous spot cleaning units and one thing I noticed is that 1.5 gallons it the usual capacity for these machines. There are some 2 gallon units out there as well. Next is that if you want a heated unit then get ready to pay up. The price difference between heated an non-heated is about $300 or more for a heated unit in the spot cleaning machines. Now, my budget did not allow for a heated unit so I stuck with non heated. I was stating to lean toward the Mytee Tempo but if you compare that to the one I have you will see this:
(Cleanfreak unit stats on the left Mytee Tempo stats on the right)
Recovery Tank: 3 gallon / 1.5 gallon
Solution Tank: 3 gallon / 1.5 gallon
Psi 55psi / 55psi
Water lift: 105" / 85"
Air Movement 140 CFM / 97 CFM
Hose: 7' x 1.25" / 8'
Attachment: Clean heart duty plastic / Stainless Steel
Warranty Cleanfreak Unit: Lifetime warranty on the roto-molded tanks and 5 years on the motors and parts
Warranty Mytee Unit: 3 year warranty on the housing, 1 year on motors/vacs, and 90 days on parts
Price: $349.00 / $364.00
So after my hunt I picked up the Cleanfreak unit. Now on to the review.
I pulled the front carpets out of my sister 08 Dodge Avenger and here they are before cleaning:

After vacuuming and brushing clean:

Once the were clean and brushed time to get working. I sprayed down the carpets with Meguiars APC+ 10:1 ratio. I then agitated the carpets with a stiff carpet brush:

Now for the carpet extractor. I used hot water instead of cold water and made 4 passes in total. I did not add any solution into the spray tank so there was only hot water coming from the spray nozzle And here are the after pictures:

There carpets were nearly dry to the touch after cleaning with the unit.

Thirsty?
This has been my favor purchase to date and I'm very happy with the cleaning abilities of the extractor. I can definitely take my interior game to a new level with this unit!:xyxthumbs:
