2004 Corvette. Got some kind of adhesive from a plastic shop steering wheel protector on the center piece/airbag area. Its very sticky and annoying. I've tried just leaving a wet cloth on it for a while and just gently wiping but I don't seem to be making any progress. I guess I will need some kind of product to get it off, but I am concerned about taking the paint/dye off the wheel in the process. What's my best shot? Thanks for any help

My go-to for the first attempt at anything like this is Mineral Spirits.

I would not use that goo gone on that- that goo gone is some pretty serious stuff- would not chance it

I would try the mineral spirits on a rag as the above poster suggested followed buy a soapy rag then a final fresh water wipe off

Goo gone?

It’s not serious stuff at all….it’s citrus… I’ve never used it on any type of surface whatsoever where there’s a problem, leather, plastic, paint… Anything…

You are probably thinking of goof off… Now that stuff is serious…..
