I have a job coming up on a Lincoln SUV that has heated/air conditioned leather seats. Obviously, they're perforated. I've watched Larry Kosilla's video on cleaning them, but I'm concerned about applying leather conditioner without clogging the holes. Anyone have any experience with this?

Typically you shouldn't need a conditioner, but if you do go lightly.... use an applicator to spread the product, then follow up with a MF cloth to wipe it off. I know if it's Pinnacle Leather Conditioner the product is pretty thin and will not clog the pores.

Conditioner is unnecessary on modern leathers. Clean it well. If you must condition apply to applicator rather than to the seat directly.

Apply the conditioner to the applicator and work it into the applicator with your finger. Does not matter if it is a foam applicator or microfiber applicator. You can also start on an un-perforated area and then work your way to the perforated section. You will have enough product in your applicator to not clog up the perforations.

thank you all for the responses...one of the many things I love about this forum is people's willingness to help

I was really impressed with blackfire leather conditioner. I applied it to a foam applicator and started on the sides of the seats that were not perforated and then went over the perforated last and then wiped off excess after a min...no clogging.

I clean with light APC, then wipe away the residue with D156. Back to factory finish.
