I need to clean my doors and the door jamb. I've done searches to figure out the general steps, but I have a very specific question. There are usually parts that are greased or lubricated so that they move smoothly. From what I've seen the grease sometimes appears like a paste or vaseline, or in some cases, its smooth like, well, grease. Do most detailers clean those parts?

Thanks for your help.

I completely avoid them, they have grease on them for a reason, so I go around them.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info!

I detail my door jambs weekly with my quick detailer of choice. They always stay clean and glow. I do not bump the lubricants but occassionally use a detailing stick on dirt and grime in corners.

You can clean them and put a dab of thick petroleum grease on them afterwards. You should give them a dab of grease once in a while to keep them running smooth.
