So, I looked today and saw that I threw 2 orange pads, 2 white pads and 1 red pad in a bin without cleaning them last year. Must have been a brain freeze because I am very OCD about my tools and things. My big question, is there any hope of cleaning them or have I just trashed them? :(

I'm no expert, but I would think that upon the introduction of water the polishes would come right back out of the pads. I say give it a go, dampen the pad and maybe spray some APC, then rinse them out. I bet they come clean

I would just soak them is a bowl of APC for awhile and then rinse really good. I have done that a couple times during winter detailing and they where fine.

I have Amazing Roll Off, OPC and ZEP citrus degreaser. I just wanted to make sure it was good to do before I tried anything.

I am happy to say, I am on about 5 forums and when it comes to help, nothing is better than AG. This is the only detailing forum I am on.

I did the same thing and was able to get them like new after soaking them in DP pad rejuvenator.

soak them in your ZEP citrus degreaser and then rinse them and they should be fine.

I've sprayed Folex on my pads to get them clean.....wait a few minutes and then spray them with the hose and they come out as clean as can be! I used to use Zep Citrus before but felt that maybe Folex wouldn't be as abusive to the pads? Don't know....but it works for me.

I did the same thing and the pads sat for 3 years. Just sprayed them with XMT Pad Rejuvenator/cleaner, let it soak in for a few minutes, washed with warm water and they look like new.

I toss mine in the washing machine with some microfiber cleaning solution.
