Hi.

What do you use to clean Mercedes Benz MB--Tex seats? Manual says don't use MF towels. What do I use then?

Do I use leather cleaner and leather conditoner?

I'm a lurker at this forum and is just looking to keep my 2015 MB in tiptop shape.

Thanks in advance for the response.

What model Mercedes is it? What surfaces of the interior are MB Tex? What does it look and feel like? Is MB Tex used across the majority of their vehicles these days?

If it says that.. Then what Does it say to use?
It didn't say what to use, it just says don't use MF cloths.

I'm shocked by everything I just read... I've always thought the seats inside Mercedes Benz felt too coarse and dry, sort of cheap.. Now I know it's because it's not even leather. Smh.
That owners manual fails.. Then the article states that according to Mercedes Benz, MB Tex is easier to clean than real leather.. Yet they don't tell you how to clean it in the owners manual?

My wife has a GLA. I use soft white terry cloth towels. For cleaning any thing that is safe for vinyl is fine. I use Griots garage interior cleaner and follow with either Griots Garage vinyl and rubber dressing or Optimum Protectant plus. If it is just lightly soiled OPP has mild cleaners for a quick one step cleaning and protecting.
I also use a soft bristle brush when cleaning. This one works well. Natural Horse Hair Interior Upholstery Brush

My experience...

Mercedes MB-Tex, Lexus Nuluxe, BMW Leatherette, etc. are all faux leather products. They are likely to hold up better than real leather over the long term but that will be determined as time marches on. These faux leather products are engineered to look and feel like real leather. They do not need the same hydration that leather does. They definitely don't need conditioning products. They can benefit from a water-based hydrocarbon protectant to avoid dye transfer. Cleaning should receive the same cleaning real ℗leather (protected leather) would using an automotive cleaning solution taking care to remove all traces of the detergent.

Most of these manufacturers offer a real leather option for a premium price but even then only the contact areas are real leather.

Thank you all for the response. I bought Wolfgang leather care cleaner and conditioner a month ago. Can I still use those? I thought I had leather. 😧

Yep, the MB-Tex is just another name for vinyl. I really don't know why you can't use microfiber on MB vinyl or their leather. Makes no real sense, but I'm sure there is a reason.

That's the same thing I find concerning.. Especially since that's what I've been using to maintain customers Mercedes Benz interiors.

My wife is a 2010 C and I use MF on the seats all the time when cleaning them and have no problems. Assuming you use quality ones I don't see a problem with it.

Hello friends, correct me if I'm wrong this Tex material is an artificial leather correct?
