So my exhaust tips got destroyed during the winter and were hurting pretty bad

So I decided to take them off and clean em up for the summer. Of course they are not 100% perfect and I wasn't expecting them to be. The process:

-Poorboy's APC full strength (wet tips than sprayed on and let sit no rubbing)
-Rinse off APC
-APC full strength with agitation from hands
-Clay and APC (didn't get off the baked on stuff I wanted to get off)
-Steel wool (#0000) and APC worked wonders on the baked on stuff cleaned it up without scratching.
-PP via rotary and red VC pad
-Three coats of Wheel Sealant

After Clay (notice the spots on the left also on right, they just wouldn't come off with clay had to step it up to the #0000 steel wool)

After steel wool then polished with PP and a red pad via rotary

Those babies look awesome now!
Nothing quite like shiny polished exhaust tips.

Those look NICE! They look even better with that ROUSH on it! What do you drive?

07 F-150..... hope to someday have the supercharger that goes with the exhaust :dig: lol

3 hours vs. buying new exhaust tips. I think you made the right choice. Great job.:xyxthumbs:

Yea at 90 bucks a tip to replace  I think it was worth it hahahah

Awesome job! Can't argue with the results. It's the price we pay for driving our cars all year long.

oh ya nice . I've looked at that supercharger. little pricey. I opted to install an edge power programer , cold air intake , throttle body space and exhaust . that's enough . gas milage is bad enough and so is cost of gas .

Nice. Why didn't you use PP2?

It when I tried using PP it wasn't even touching that really baked on stuff. It was like when your polishing and there is this little spec on the paint and your going to yourself "why wont it come off" then you just hit it with your finger and it pops off. I had the feeling that it needed some serious abrasive to get it off lol.

Great looking tips, What rpm were you using.

For a supercharger a go with a procharger,

Low speed on the Makita bout 2 - 2.5

Haha I feel ya man when I put the 34's and exhaust on it my MPG were garbage!

Stupid question. Is taking off the exhaust tips as easy as just loosening/removing the bolt and nut from around the base of the tips and just sliding the tips off? I've never actually removed any before.
