Clear coat failure?

This is on a friends Tahoe. Looks to me the the clear coat is gone in this one area.

I had a 2008 Tahoe last week with severe CC failure on hood and roof. C'mon GM...you can do better than that.

Although I currently have a 3 day job on a 2004 BMW 740i that is in the same condition.

I did a 2011 Suburban last November that had the beginnings of clearcoat failure on the hood

had a 2010 silver suburban that had failure on almost the entire vehicle. entire sheets of clear just came off. Friends yukon is doing the same thing. seems to be pretty common on those.

You said "one area", no other areas are affected? Unusual that it started on a vertical panel rather than the horizontal panels.
