Where is that on the car? Optimum has come out with a couple of new products, not sure when they will be here at PBMG, but they have a gelcoat restorer that's supposed to restore chalky gelcoat without having to compound off the oxidized layer. They say it's not for clearcoat...but somebody (maybe me) is going to try it for chalky clearcoat.
Then there is the clearcoat restorer, which isn't supposed to work for chalky clear, only clear that perhaps has scratches that are too deep to polish. The clearcoat restorer (CCR) is quite hazardous, and short shelf life, since it's really a one-component 2K clear, if you will. Because of the hazards, I'm not jumping up and down to try it, but it might be the thing for your car. Tell us where that damage is, how old the car is, maybe some better pictures.
that's impact damage.
I agree with the others after the last pictures. That's impact damage where the plastic bumper flexed to much so the paint cracked.
Am I right in thinking this is the beginning stages of clear coat failure. Respray is the only option - correct?
