Clear inline hose filter kit leaking???

Hey everyone!

So I recently purchased the clear inline hose kit and I'm having one issue with it leaking on my first time using it. Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister

The inlet part of the canister keeps leaking and I'm not sure what to do or if this has been and issue with all of these canisters? I have it mounted inside my garage and I can't have it leaking. If anyone has any advice on this it would be much appreciated!!! Also if you guys needs pictures I can provide those also.

I have the same issue. The hose connection leaks.

Is it leaking at the connection? If so try pipe dope if you haven't already

The issue is, the connection spins so that you connect a hose to it. I'm honestly unsure how to make the connection not leak without permanently sealing the connection with JB well or something of that extent.

Sounds like a defective unit obviously. I would send that bad boy back for a refund
 
I have the same setup, but got it from HD at a cheaper price and the cartridge holder is white. It has a cool light at the top that lets me know when the cartridge needs to be replaced.
 
So I was able to fix the issue by doing a couple things.

1. I had to replace the hose fittings with copper fittings and metal clamps over the cheap plastic ones AutoGeek supplied. It leaked horribly from both fittings.

2. The inlet and exit fitting on the top of the canister must be tightened down the point where he inlet can no longer spin. What I mean by this is before I even attach the hose to it I had to crank the inlet tight up against the top of the canister. To the point where it could no longer spin at all (I'm speaking for the female fitting which is supposed to spin to allow you to attach the hose to it)

3. The male exit fitting on the canister must also be tightened down to be 100% flush up against canister.

After doing these 3 steps it will work 100%, I'm just upset that autogeek sent me 2 canisters that did not work and had no idea how to fix the issue. I had to pay to fix there mistakes! Hope this helps everyone else out.

Hopefully this thread will get forwarded to their supplier. Sorry for the hassle/extra expense
