Totoland Mach said:One cause I always watch for (using a paint guage which is standard for dealers buying at auction) is previous wet sanding and thinning of the clear coat. If the guage reads below the OEM level by a significant amount, it's an indication that the hood/trunk/roof have been wet sanded and compounded.
Sometimes you can take another 1-2 passes with wet sanding, but after that, you're too thin on the clear coat and will probably see failure.
