A friend recently got a black 2008 Acura and it's in very nice shape. However this clear bra is so cloudy it's the only thing you notice on the car.
Any ideas?

remove it in the sun.....I remove many of them....after you remove it, you have to buff at the edge....It need to be hot to remove it....warming the engine will help you....pull off slow and smooth

Sounds like this clear bra has reached the end of its life cycle possibly due in part to: 4 1/2 years possibly on the vehicle? Most PPF, depending on manufacturer, is warranteed 5-7 years. Also, and perhaps, some abrasive polishes/waxes/towels could have been used on this bra....hence a cloudy appearance would be evident.

For more technical advise I suggest giving these guys a call/e-mail:

XPel Technologies Corp.: 1.800.447.9928; and/or

Premier Protection Film, International: 510.406.1500

Just some ideas to think about. :)

Looking at your picture. It is difficult to tell if the film is needs to be replaced due to cloudiness, age or neglect or it's a non coated film OR the paint surface is orange peel free and a orange peel film was installed.

How do the fenders and top of the front bumper look.
