Coating on vinyl shutters to reduce fading?

I'll be replacing my old faded vinyl shutters. They never last very long before fading. Wondering if a coating on new shutters will extend how long they last before fading. Also wonder if a coating could even be applied due to the textured surface. Thoughts?

I wouldn't think it would hurt to at least try, never know may help.

Just wondered if anyone else tried it for this or similar applications. Also, if I try it and it doesn't work, it does hurt... It hurts my wallet! :dig:

I have painted mine with a good exterior paint and they have lasted quite a while. Its about time to replace them cause they are getting broken where they mount but I would think some exterior paint should freshen them up for you and be much less expensive.

I sprayed mine with a good enamel paint a few years back and they still look good.
Mine too was vinyl.
