I got my first bottle of #845. I am eager to try it out, but it seems like it is going to be hard to apply. The consistency of the product in the bottle is like a paste wax, not a liquid wax. Should I heat it up or something to make it less viscous?

Do a search on here. There is a great thread about how to apply including heating it up which can be done with the sun or soaking the bottle in hot water.

"Collinite 845: the definitive guide to this legendary wax" or something like that is the title of the thread.

It is also a sticky on the "how to articles" forum page

Put it in hot water in your sink for 10-20 minutes, then shake it up

I let it sir out in the sun while I was the car if it is warm enough.

That's my approach too. Unfortunaly, the way we're going with the weather this year, this technique won't work until July!

Once there is a little more space in the bottle, just shaking it vigorously thins it out for me.

I also added a fine sprayer head to apply because i hate the medicine bottle top and pouring it on has the possibility of being messy or using too much.

It is definitely my favorite "wax" /hybrid sealant

sleep with it. Your body heat will melt it nicely overnight if you keep it close.

I ususally just stick it out in the sun while I am washing my car. It should end up a thin liquid.

Apply very very thin. If not it will streak and be difficult to remove. if applied thin, it leaves a great shine and comes off without a problem streak free!

Thanks guys, I read that guide and used my DA to apply the 845 and it was like the wax wanted to go on thin. This stuff is going to last a while.

That's what I love about it, it goes a long way and you can't beat the price to performance ratio. I also have a couple of the 8oz squeeze bottles that AG sells I transferred the 845 into one easy to handle and the plastic they use to make the bottles is user friendly.

:xyxthumbs: Wait until it rains for the first time. You'll love the beading.

I'm not sure how they make money with this stuff, I imagine my bottle will last 10 years.

I just got back from the store, and walking in the parking lot realized how much I like this wax. It has a great darkening effect, with good gloss.

I think I am going to have to find another use for the pan of Pete's 53 that is going to be sitting idle for a while now.

Placing the #845 in a hot container of water for a little while thins it out nicely. When its warm out and you take it from inside to outside its only a matter of time before it thins out. When it comes to application this stuff spreads forever, no need to ever EVER over apply, just wastinng product. Every single time I've applied it to a car I would do the whole car and THEN remove. Doing this was very easy, never had an issue removing it or it dusting, forget "bang for the buck", this is just an awesome product, period!

I think I have a new pot of 50/50 after the first time using 845 I was hooked.
