I'm looking for a polish and pad set to remove minor defects on the family cars. Mostly it seems to be marks from automatic carwash and improper drying. This will done before Collinite 915 is applied. I will be practicing on some parts from the body shop over the Winter. Thoughts on how and when to use Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. If I use UPP I still want to use 915. Thanks

There are so many nice products out there. For someone relatively new to polishing, I usually recommend Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Polish. They cover a lot of ground. Many times Ultimate Compound will leave the finish wax ready, allowing for Ultimate Polish to enhance the gloss.

I've never used 4 star. I usually finish with Ultimate Wax, or Duragloss 111.

Another good combo that's easy to use is HD Cut and HD Polish but a little more expensive than the Ultimate twins. Or, you could just go with HD Adapt and change pad aggressiveness to vary the amount of cut.
