Combination of Collinite 476 & 845

Hi guys,

Can you combine those two ? eg two coats of 476 and top it off with a coat of 845 ?

Also, if I apply the 476 first will it remove a coat of Zymol Creame that I applied two weeks ago ?

Yes you can. The 476 would not remove the zymol. I personally would put two coats of 845 instead of two coats of 476.
 
I'm sure you could, but why not just put on two coats of 476, and call it a day?

That's good news I would hate to waste the Zymol. How come you suggest only 845 ? 476 is supposed to be more durable.

PS : The white 993 in the avatar is looking good. My dream car. The last air cooled Porsche. :urtheman:

I don't know.... Maybe an overkill but is that not what detailing is all about ?
 
Hehe, it's your car, and you can certainly use what you want on it :) I just don't see what 845 will add to the 476 - 476 will already be durable enough for most purposes. Also, in my opinion (others may not agree), I don't feel that 845 leaves "a deep wet look"; I've always found it to be very bright and reflective, and from all reports, 476 is very similar.
 
If you want the warm deep look with more durability than 845, do two layers of 915.
 
I honestly find one coat of any of the Collinite waxes to be enough. I think you are wasting your time and wax by adding additional coats. If you don't miss any spots on your inital application, I see no reason for a second coat and haven't found durability to be any greater from multi coats. But that is just me.
 
I suggest using 476. Then top it off with 845. Thats exactly what I used to do back when I spent my winters in Chicago. 845 for me was just faster and easier to apply and buff off. Thanks for the comments on my 993. Its a 1997 with just over 20,000 miles.
 
I top my Collinite applications with Max Wax, seems to add warmth and depth to the bright Collinite finish.
 
i love doing 845 and putting 476 on top. it plain works.
 
You need to consider that If whether you use one or both over the Zymol,you may only get the durability of the Zymol.That being that the Collinite will be sitting on top of the Zymol,I'm not 100 % certain of this,maybe other will chime in on this.Personally I would remove the Zymol before applying the Collinite.

On another note personally I've been wondering why 845 seems to be that more popular then 476,being that 476 is more durable? Ease of use?I myself prefer paste over liquid waxes,I don't mind the extra effort given the better durability.
