Was in an parts store that sells Aqua Wax and on the same shelf was some Lucas Quick Mist Wax. I have used Aqua Wax in the past with much success but wondered about the Lucas Quick mist. Just curious if anyone has used both and how they stack up? I know Aqua Wax has polymers but there was no mention on the can of polymers in the Lucas Wax.

I don't know much about their chemistry. Aquawax is by far my favorite and it lasts much longer. Slick goes on easy and provides a good shine, but the protection does not seem to last.

From Lucas Oil's website's product description page:

"Lucas Oil Slick Mist is a polymer paint gloss intensifier,
which can be used on other surfaces such as glass, chrome and vinyl decals.

Use Slick Mist as a traditional wax, quick detail spray or spray it on your vehicle between rinsing and drying for the easiest polish job ever".

Note:
Please don't get hung up on the buzz-word polymer(s).
In fact: polymers have been around "from the beginning".
Even human beings are made from/have polymers!

I had a similar moment with Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax and Slick Mist at a big box store about a week ago.

There was a thread a few weeks ago where several people mentioned how much they liked the Lucas product. I too would really like to hear more opinions/comments about the product

I really wish these products came in smaller sizes. I'd like to try out Slick Mist, but don't want to get stuck with a 16oz bottle of the stuff in the event I don't like it.

I use it and like it. It smells great and is definitely more of a speed wax than a qd just based off of flash time. Bob pointed out though it has a melting point of 82ish degrees which is a definite negative

They make an 8oz version.... Where it's sold I don't know.

Love Aquawax. When the car is wet, I mist it over with AW then dry off with the guzzler. Just butter. I havent used the other but AW just works so well and is well priced!

I'm sure I am one of those that commented on Slick Mist in other threads because I am very high on it. I can not find AquaWax in any store near me so started using the Lucas and I have been very happy with it. NAPA is suppose to carry it but our store does not. Lucas on the other hand is carried everywhere, including Walmart, and is priced a little lower than AquaWax which makes it a true bargain.

I use Slick Mist in much the same way as AquaWax, ie, as a drying aid. It goes on smoothly and leaves a good shine. I do not believe it protects as long as does AquaWax but since I use it so often it makes no difference. I am looking for ease of application and shine only and in this respect it is as good as any of them. It is also very versatile, as is AquaWax. By that I mean you can use it on glass and even on interior vinyl (although I prefer 303 for that). I don't know a place on the car that Slick Mist can't be used. It is also a good "topper" when the car is dry and clean. And the strong bubble gum smell is a very nice bonus.

If I had to have only one of these I would probably stick with AquaWax because I often use it in conjunction with Duragloss 111 and 105 sealants. Other than that, I think it is a toss up with a slight edge to Lucas because it is available to me locally whereas AquaWax has to be ordered.

I'm a big fan of Lucas Slick Mist as well. I find I use this more than any of my other fave QDs (Megs 34, Adams, SFG Hot Rod Detailer). As mentioned above, I've even used it on the interior in a pinch, although I prefer Mothers and Megs for the interior.
