Alright guys I need some opinions. I have a guy wanting his Peterbuilt polished out, its painted with Emron 6000 single stage paint from the factory. All looks pretty good except for the top of the hood. Its oxidized bad. I was thinking compounding with 3M finesse it II & a wool pad, then polishing to restore gloss. Ive buffed base/clear for years not but never buffed on single stage. All input is appreciated...thanks! :dblthumb2:

I believe emeron is like super hard and durable. Mostly used for trucks and fire engines. I remember my autos teacher hollering at us to always use a mask when spraying emeron paint (i know you are supposed to ALWAYS wear a mask, but when you are young you know better!) something about it is supposed to harden in your lungs and stay there.

I have never worked on it but from what i know it is really tough so you might need to bring out the heavy stuff! heavy cut wool and compound!

let me know how it comes out for future reference!
Good luck

If the hood is badly oxidized, you may want to use M105 followed with M205. Make sure you do a test stop to check the results. Also, when polishing Single Stage paint, your pads will take on color of the paint. This is normal, and expected.

Good deal...I'll try & get some before & after pics up. Thanks guys
