I work on Japanese car brands 70% of the time that has soft and sticky paint.

On these cars that has medium amount of swirls and defects, I often use Rupes yellow foam pad + Sonax Perfect Finish for cutting. FYI, I use a 5” DA with 15mm orbit, in speeds around 4/4.5 (~4000rpm). Most of the time I found this combo is enough to cut out the defects on these soft paints.

However, Sonax PF was sticky on these types of paints, leaving blotches and some haze especially on soft black paint. It made finishing the paint harder. Also, sonax PF dusts quite a lot, which is annoying.

I’m looking for another product that can do this particular job better, what do you guys recommend? I’m interested to try out Koch Chemie’s Fine cut F6-01 or Scholl’s S20 Black.

Carpro Essence and Menzerna 3800 with a Lake Country black HDO pad.

3D One all the way for soft paint.

Starting with least aggressive pad of course.

Me and Danube think alike. I'm a HUGE fan of 3D One and soft pads on sticky, soft paints.

The only time I like the oily residue wipe off!

Interesting, does 3D one combined with soft pads give enough cut on soft paints?

Even if it doesn't (on your paint) get the pad next in line and give it a go.
