I see a lot of people use vac/blowers, leaf blowers, etc. to help dry their cars. I see some downfalls with the potential for dirty air coming from leaf blowers, although the Toro I have would be spectacular :)

Anybody use an air compressor? Any +/-'s that people have encountered? Special diffusers, tools, etc. used? Just a thought....what do you think?Opinions/advice?

Thx.

I would becareful with compressed air because of the oil that is always in the line and comes out with the air. Then you have the mess of cleaning the oil from the surface. The leaf blower is a safer choice.

I agree, that's why I asked about tools, diffuser, filtration, etc.. I don't have an oiler on mine, so maybe there is a purification difference. I'm going to chek it out.

Thx.

What about gas powered leaf blowers? I'm pretty sure they exhaust their exhaust through the air that is blown out the end. Wouldn't that leave a film over the car?

That would require routing the engine exhaust tube into the blower tube exhaust. That sounds more complicated than it needs to be. The blower tube is connected to a fan that is driven by the motor, but the exhaust gases from the motor would not expel exhaust into the blower tube unless there was a tube from the motor going into the blower tube as a separate tube.

I use compressed air to blow out the cracks after I'm done drying. I also have an air control filter to remove oil/moisture from the lines.

I had a leaf blower fling a piece of debris at my Civic Si once and it chiped the paint. That was the last time I used a leaf blower. I'm sure if I had some sort of filter/screen over the intake it wouldn't have happened though.

I use a air compressor to get the water out of the cracks. I have a oil free PC compressor.

i use a air compressor everyday for my cars i have an oililess one and it is also filtered it is made my speedaire it is alittle bit more money but it works great and it has a amazing fast recovery rate. i use it to wash it i have a snow gun a interior air gun and i dry it with it it works like a dream=]]]
