Today the Crew started working just after 7:00 a.m. and by noon they had three walls up. After their lunch break they came back and framed in the fourth wall for the garage door.

These are pics of the progress made:

Thanks for looking!!!:)

I am looking forward to getting out of the sun...Using a canopy is a real PITA to set-up and take down by yourself.:(

looks good man......what size is it ???

It's 20x24, it will have a 12ft. garage door, I think I've decided on four 48in 4 bulb T-8 fluorescents with the Sunshine tubes for overhead lighting and 2 of the same for the left side wall for side panel lighting.

It will be heated with a propane heater in the winter and I've chosen to go with a whole house fan for cooling.

Jeff the progress is looking good! It should be dried in by day eight!

Keep us posted!

Looks great I would consider running a spare 220 Volt line just in case you want to be some A.C. in someday . These unit are great for what you are building .
Ductless air conditioner, best heat pumps / mini split air conditioners

Yes it will be wired for the 220 Volt...I have seen those units and think it would work well.

From what they are telling me, I should be able to be in the building by the end of the month if so, I will have a few weeks of summer heat left to test out the fans cooling abilities...I have a couple of oak trees that blocks the majority of the sun until mid-day and they will be a big help.:xyxthumbs:

Thanks Tim,

Yes, the progress is good so far, no weather delays or unforeseen circumstances yet (keeping my fingers crossed).

I guess by "dried in" you mean wrapped with a vapor barrier and the roof on? I'm ignorant when it comes to the terminology and the steps it takes to complete the job. I do offer them my help every morning though, I tell them "if there is anything I can do to get in their way, just let me know"...lol...

Yes Jeff that is what I mean.....and if I was building it you wouldn't be in the way LOL you would be handing things my way to make the job progress faster!

Glad things are moving along to your expectations, please keep us posted on the progression!

Sounds good but that is not enough light IMO. In my personal garage which is 21x13 I have 5 48" double T8's in an H pattern and it is enough light for most of the car. I add lights to the end so it is a square 8 pattern. I also have them on two switches so the lights that go the long way come on together and the single in the middle comes on by itself. With the current H pattern I find the back and front of the car to be fairly shaded and dark.

In our shop, we have two 8' T12's directly over the car, then 4 feet on each side of those we have T5's So basically 6 double ballasts right over the car. It provides good light.

Find a pattern that works for your garage and put lights on different switches so if you are just hanging out in the garage and not working it is not too bright.
