Was doing some research on some polishes and had a question: Does Mothers have an equal product line to Meguiar's Ultimate Compound + Ultimate Polish combo?

I've seen California Gold line Pure Polish + Micro-Polishing Glaze combo; is that the same thing? Does it perform the same? Can you use them with a DA or is the Pro line best for that?

Mothers has a paint restoration combo. I am not sure if it is sold in local parts stores.

I see the ultimate compound and ultimate polish from meguiars quite frequently in stores, but have never seen the mothers combo in stores.

Our Professional Rubbing Compound and Finishing Polish are professional products in consumer sized packages. They're sold in very few retail outlets.

Your best bet is an e-tailer like AutoGeek.

We demo'ed them at DetailFest back in March - if you want terrific, no-dusting products that finish well, you'd do well to give the pair a try.

Forrest,
I've seen them advertised, but haven't found them locally yet. Are they SMAT or DAT abrasive?

Bill

I have no idea if they're SMAT or DAT. I've never asked. I know they work well, which is more important to me than technology.

The real question is can they be used with dual action polishers...

Very quick response, thanks!

Do you happen to know how Pure Polish + Micro-Polishing Glaze fit on the scale with Pro Paint Restoration System?

Thx! Not sure how I missed that...

Yes they can be used with a DA. OuR demo was done with a Flex 3401. I've used then with. PC 7424 as well.

Pure Polish is like Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut. I don't think it's aggressive enough to remove anything more than swirls. MicroPolishing Glaze is a glaze, not a defect removing product. It masks defects and adds depth to a finish like Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze, but it's much easier to work with.

From most to least aggressive it's Rubbing Compound, Finishing Polish, Pure Polish and then MicroFinishing Glaze.

Awesome, thanks Forrest!
