Has anyone done this? Can you simply take out the "mixer" and reinsert the dip tube, and install the nozzle from a Multi Pro (which you can buy at TRC) and be able to go from a foamer to a regular sprayer and back?

There's the insert on the suction tube as well as the spray nozzle. Haven't tried removing the aeration insert but I think you'd need a new spray nozzle.

Oh crap, I just ordered something from TRC last night and forgot all about the nozzles! Mr. Snoop, I had looked at the cross-sections and the "insert on the suction tube" is called a "mixer" in IK parlance, and it looked from the instruction sheets that the dip tube would just go back in if you took out the mixer.

EDIT: Clean Garage has the nozzle set, and I haven't placed THAT order yet--it's even 25% off which is better than TRC 20%. Thanks for Mr. Snoop filling me in about the CG sale, it's a good one.

I wanted a sprayer with a large spray pattern, so I looked in to these models. IDK why, but I ordered the Foam Pro and should have ordered the Multi instead. So, I'm interested to know if you successfully made this conversion, and is it worth the money and effort. Or, should I just buy the Multi?

What is it that you are intending to do with the sprayer? The 2 is pretty small and is good for spraying wheels and tires. Not really suitable for spraying an entire vehicle. For spraying wheels and tires one would want the foamer.

The parts were $13 before the Black Friday discount, I haven't done the conversion or really looked at it yet, sorry.

All you need to do is remove the mixer and pickup tube and insert a longer pickup tube, I use one from an extra spray bottle I had.
You can use the nozzle it comes with if you want the wide fan pattern or you can order the conical nozzle that is used on the Multi Pro 2.
The nozzle has nothing to due with the foam generation, its all done with the mixer that has a very small hole in the side that allows air to mix with the fluid coming up the pickup tube. Its the orifice size of the mixer that causes how wet or dry the foam is.
The foaming pickup tube is the one on the right with the mixer. I use Spray Systems conical tips that I have for my detail keg so it cost me nothing to convert my FOAM Pro 2 over to a MULITI Pro 2
