I removed a sticker that was located on the top of the gas tank of my new-to-me motorcycle. There is still a residue that I can't seem to get rid of. Can someone help me out? I only have the ability to work by hand btw.
Here are the steps I took so far:
- Remove sticker using slight heat from heat gun
- Used WD-40 to remove most of the remaining sticky residue
- Used Dawn dish soap to remove remaining WD-40 and residue
- Applied Meguiar's Scratch X, allowed to haze, buffed off
After these steps, there is still visible remaining residue. Please see the pictures below to see what I am referring to.
Is there a product that will for sure take care of this without a doubt? Obviously, I would like to not damage the paint in the process. However, at the same time, it is not a show bike and gets ridden almost daily so the paint is far from showroom quality.
What do you suggest?
